Why has my advert been removed?

Whilst the majority of adverts posted on the site are accepted and made live, there are the odd few that may fail our checks or are not acceptable.

If your advert has been rejected, please refer to our posting rules for general adverts or our pets mimimum standards to see if your advert is compliant.

For a quick overview these are the most common reasons for an advert not being accepted:

Pets:

  • You have attempted to advertise a pet as "FREE" to rehome
  • The pet you are advertising was not born and bred in the UK and is/was imported
  • The dog you are advertising has been subjected to ear cropping
  • The dog you are advertising has not been microchipped as per UK law
  • The pet requires Cites certification and you haven't stated that you have this
  • You aren't the original breeder of a puppy or kitten and it's under 6 months of age (Lucys Law)

General adverts:

  • The advert you have posted is a duplicate of an existing advert
  • The advert is for a prohibited item or an item that is not permitted on Freeads
  • You are offering adult services
  • You have included contact details in your advert text or any uploaded images
