The PAAG's New Pet Advertising Standards

The Pet Advertising Agency Group (PAAG) have now launched their new and updated advertising standards.

This will  improve and promote pet welfare as well as security for prospective new pet parents that are seeking a forever pet to invite into their home. Freeads are proud to support these changes and are one of a small number of websites that continue to meet the PAAG's evolving standards.

We will continue to work with the PAAG and uphold their standards to improve our pet welfare policies. Working for the benfefits of both breeders and prospective pet parents,  we will always seek to inovate and to introduce new measures that will encourage both ethical breeding and rehoming. Being one of the first websites to introduce a secure deposit schemes backed by ID verification from pet advertisers, we continually strive to improve this and our other welfare orientated features.

The PAAG have announced that six of their advertising standards have now been adopted into law and in Great Britain, licensed pet advertisers must include by law:

  • Their local authority license number
  • The name of the local authority that issued it
  • A recognisable photo of the pet being advertised (In Scotland this only applies to cats and dogs)
  • The age of the pet being advertised (excluding fish)
  • The country of origin of the pet advertised for rehoming
  • The country of residence of the pet being advertised for rehoming

Rehoming responsibly and safely on Freeads
